Toby Wills-Hart (born 2000, Dorset, UK) is a contemporary artist based in Bournemouth. A 2023 Fine Art graduate from Aberystwyth University, he is represented by New Blood Art and was nominated for the New Blood Emerging Art Prize. His work was featured at Saatchi Gallery (October 2023), and he co-curated an exhibition at Garage Gallery in Walthamstow, London (March 2023), with his next exhibition opening at The Gallery Upsatirs at Upton House (March 2025). Toby also collaborates with musicians to create album art: An Adventurous Dream, Ian Shaw (June 2024), and actively fundraises for medical aid in Palestine through his art, including Palestine Unveiled at Cole’s Gallery, Leeds (April 2024). My oil paintings are immense abstract conversations between myself and the paint. On the canvas, I let the paint lead me; I draw into the canvas with paint and rotate the surface to generate a new perspective, allowing new compositions to form. The paint expresses itself through me, rendering my experiences and creating a space for reflection and interpretation. Natural imagery bleeds through into my work due to this meditative process.
