Living in Çanakkale, Turkey, Gokce Kinay started her PhD program in Art after graduating from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Academy. She continues her research on Garden Painting as a Perceptual Space. She participated in Contemporary Istanbul Bloom in 2024 and had her last group exhibition in Lisbon. She continues her painting works in her own studio.

Gokçe Kinay's works in yellow and green tones, inspired by the theme of "komorebi", delve into the emotional and phenomenological reflections of light and nature through an abstract and rhythmic language. These paintings transcend the visual interplay of light filtering through leaves, creating a space where memory, perception, and emotion converge. The artist employs yellow and green tones to establish a dynamic equilibrium between vitality and serenity. Yellow embodies the energy and warmth of sunlight, while green conveys nature's healing and calming essence. Together, these tones not only capture the physical beauty of komorebi but also evoke its deeper, metaphysical dimensions. Her technical approach further enhances this emotional depth. Working on paper, she integrates natural materials to build layered textures, combining them with oil-based pigments and pastels. This method creates tactile surfaces that echo the organic qualities of nature while allowing for fluidity and spontaneity in her compositions. The interplay of these materials mirrors the intricate dance of light and shadow in her subject matter, imbuing her works with both physical and sensory resonance. The poetic essence of these works celebrates nature's cycles of transformation and continuity. And komorebi becomes more than an interaction of light and shadow—it evolves into a metaphor for the transient beauty of life itself.
