Kit Lintin (b. 1996, Yorkshire) is a London based contemporary oil painter. She earned her Fine Art degree from Loughborough University in 2018 and soon after focused exclusively on oil painting. Since then, she has created commissioned works for notable brands, including Burlington Arcade and Champagne Bollinger. In recent years, Kit has participated in group exhibitions and held her first solo show in London. Her practice draws on the techniques and principles of traditional still-life painting, blending them with the playful storytelling found in surrealism. The result is a body of work that merges contemporary and classical styles. ‘I draw inspiration from everyday objects and their ability to engage the imagination. Through my oil paintings, I transform familiar items, placing them outside their usual context, viewing them from a different angle or cropping the subject. By carefully composing each scene, I use oil paint to create new associations. This could be done by highlighting the delicate folds of fabric forming sensual shapes, revealing the charm in ordinary elements or uncovering mystery in the interplay of light and shadow.’
