Yuliya Martynova was born in 1980 in Kazakhstan (Aktau). She has received a classical arts education as a child, but later pursued more practical career in law. She moved to the UK two decades ago and after 15 years in various industries, from energy to private wealth, Yuliya finally gave it a chance to become a full time artist and she has never looked back. In 2021 Yuliya has moved to beautiful English countryside (Caversham, Berkshire) and is now celebrated as a contemporary dreamscape artist, ethereal cloud and aerial boat scene painter. Yuliya’s body of works extends to several ongoing collections developing in parallel. In her most recent La Femme Nuage collection showing in River & Rowing Museum in Henley-Upon-Thames, Oxfordshire, she applied celestial optics creating expressionistic cloudscape series removing anthropomorphic features from a female portrait and imagining what would a woman look like should she be a cloud.
