Xinqiao Fu is a painter currently pursuing an MFA in Painting at Camberwell College of Arts, University of tshe Arts London (UAL). Previously, she studied Chinese painting at Renmin University of China and explored Western art hertory during an exchange program at the University of Bologna. Beyond painting, she has also engaged in printmaking, installation, and video art. Her diverse artistic practice is dedicated to exploring the versatility of painting materials and expanding the boundaries of visual expression. My work explores the emotional perception and the uncertainty of life’s states. My paintings embrace fluidity, ambiguity, and dynamism, capturing the moments where the boundaries between the familiar and the abstract dissolve. I use watercolor, oil paint, and mixed media, engaging in a dance with the fluidity of pigments—allowing them to merge, seep, and settle into unexpected patterns. The creative process itself is an act of surrender and discovery, letting the pigments flow naturally, mirroring the emergence and transformation of emotions. Through layering and textural depth, I create works that navigate between recognizable imagery and surreal compositions, subtly suggesting the presence of figures, landscapes, or ephemeral energies. Ultimately, my paintings invite viewers to immerse themselves in ambiguity, to find meaning within fluidity, and to resonate emotionally with the imagery. These works reflect a continuously shifting inner world, shaped by memory, instinct, and ever-changing perception.
