Xinqiao Fu is a painter currently pursuing an MFA in Painting at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London (UAL). She previously studied Chinese painting at Renmin University of China and explored Western art history during an exchange program at the University of Bologna. Her multidisciplinary background also includes work in printmaking, installation, and video art.

Fu’s practice is dedicated to expanding the possibilities of painting as a medium—both materially and conceptually. Her work explores emotional perception and the inherent uncertainty of life’s transitional states. Embracing fluidity, ambiguity, and dynamism, her paintings capture moments where the boundaries between the familiar and the abstract dissolve. Working in watercolor, oil, and mixed media, she allows pigments to merge, seep, and settle into unexpected forms—treating the creative process as a form of surrender and discovery.

Through layering and textural depth, Fu constructs compositions that hover between recognisable imagery and surreal suggestion—hinting at figures, landscapes, or ephemeral energies. Her paintings invite viewers to enter a space of ambiguity, to find meaning within fluidity, and to resonate emotionally with the evolving imagery. These works reflect a shifting inner world shaped by memory, instinct, and perception.
