In 2024 he completed The Drawing Year at The Royal Drawing School where he is currently working as a tutor on the young artists program. Heard works chiefly with etching, exploring his interest in visual storytelling. He takes inspiration from film, comics and video games, creating work that is a meeting point of new media and drawing, using traditional mediums to explore contemporary issues such as climate change. He is interested in the ambiguities of space and non-linear storytelling. For his final project at The Royal Drawing School Heard created a series of intricate etchings exploring his childhood memories and fascination with nature.
